Education
As a foundation for consulting experience, Dr. Craig William Brown attended college. First of all, Brown attended the University of Denver with an honors scholarship. After that, he completed his undergraduate study at Colorado State University. Most noteworthy, Brown was named Top Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in the CSU chemistry department, and received the Whiteford Scholarship and the Gustavson Fellowship. Subsequently, he earned the B.S. degree in chemistry, with minors in physics and education. Partly because of prompting by a professor, Brown attended graduate school. Thus, he earned the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry at Florida State University, specializing in physical chemistry. Dr. Brown’s graduate work was in molecular spectroscopy and theory. Finally, this led him to a few years at Texas Tech University as a Welch Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow, pursuing picosecond spectroscopy and theory, and acting as Deputy Director of the Picosecond and Quantum Radiation Laboratory.
Consulting Synopsis
Dr. Brown’s consulting career has encompassed work in environmental chemistry, due diligence consulting, atomic and molecular spectroscopy, electronics, and electrochemistry. He has also maintained an active interest in the unified field theory, and is currently pursuing his own version.
Some Consulting Specifics
- Because of years in environmental due diligence consulting, Dr. Brown has completed hundreds of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments according to ASTM standards.
- He served on an American Boat and Yacht Council committee to create safety standards for marine power electronics, and served as a liaison with Underwriters Laboratories.
- On a consulting team for the Tennessee Valley Authority, Dr. Brown contributed to planning and management of field missions to sample power plant flue gases for molecular mercury.
- As a Principal Investigator and Manager of Research, Brown evaluated and negotiated business agreements.
- In cooperative agreements with the Department of Energy, he generated intellectual property, advancing the field of low temperature aluminum smelting, and acted as liaison for projects, generating publications, presentations, and required reporting.
- Consulting for a research and development company, he was co-inventor in a patent covering improvements to a cold vapor atomic fluorescence spectrophotometric instrument for elemental mercury determinations. Using his experience with conventional and laser spectroscopy, Brown also performed design reviews for analytical instruments.
- Dr. Brown has worked with consulting collaborators from universities in several countries, national laboratories in the United States, SINTEF in Norway, and CSIRO in Australia.
- Brown has given a variety of seminars and published in various scholarly journals. He is inventor in patents pertinent to electronics, spectroscopy, and aluminum smelting.
- Because of a creative outlook and diverse background, Craig Brown offers unique contributions to your creative projects.
Recognition
Because Dr. Brown’s work exhibits quality and intuitive creativity, he has enjoyed recognition in a variety of forms. Thus, he is listed in various biographical publications, including at least 24 editions of Marquis publishing’s “Who’s Who” series, and was named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who’s Who in 2017 Who’ Who. Because of his education and experience, he has been the Principal Investigator in a range of projects funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, including work on wetted cathodes in an emerging technology for primary aluminum production, a related DOE Innovative Concepts Award, and a DOE/SBIR grant employing molecular spectroscopy.
Other Consulting Interests
Craig Brown has maintained interest and proficiency in music. Following early training in piano and clarinet, he has pursued an ongoing affair with the guitar. Because of his technical interests, he has studied tube amplifier and microphone topologies, and has constructed guitar effect pedals and a tube microphone. Brown has performed and recorded, and has written numerous songs. Thus, he is available for music projects.
